“True leadership is born from the courage to embrace change and guide others through it with vision, confidence, determination, and empathy.”

In an era of rapid publication information dispensation, Nobigrot noticed a need to be a more transparent and corporate leader in the public sphere. From both a political analysis and corporate leadership standpoint, she saw a clear need to shift perspectives in a new direction. Still, she felt the fear of leaving behind the familiar to embrace a new professional direction.

This fear was compounded by the complexities of balancing a demanding career with the pursuit of continuous learning and self-improvement. With hesitancy to step into the unknown and take a new professional direction, she knew she needed a push and decided to participate in the Santander SW50 Program with a desire to accelerate her growth as a leader and make time for self-reflection.

“Leaders who transform have the humility to listen and the bravery to act, even when facing opposition. Through collaboration and commitment, we craft solutions that last beyond us.”

Hosted by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and created to empower female leaders across the globe, the Santander’s W50 course brings together fifty management-level professionals in distinct fields to work in tandem to improve their leadership skills. In this interview, Malkah explains to us how the program has offered her a unique opportunity to learn from renowned professors, engage with accomplished peers, and participate in tailored coaching sessions that fostered introspection and goal setting.

This course proved to be a pivotal moment in Malkah’s journey. It has provided her with the ability to navigate complex challenges and align strategic goals with actionable outcomes. She could evaluate her strengths, identify areas for improvement, and align them with measurable impacts.

Among the program’s most rewarding aspects was the opportunity to forge connections with an outstanding cohort of women leaders. Each participant brought a wealth of experiences and perspectives, creating a dynamic environment that fostered collaboration and mutual support.

These relationships extended beyond the classroom, forming a powerful network of like-minded individuals committed to driving positive change. For her, the experience of engaging with such a vibrant community was both inspiring and empowering, reinforcing her belief in the importance of collective effort and shared vision.

“I gained confidence in the unique combination of skills I bring to the table. It strengthened my resolve to empower others while staying true to my values.”

Since finishing the SW50 Program, Nobigrot is bringing fresh strategies and a renewed vision to her professional work as a lawyer and journalist. She’s more empowered, inspired, and willing to trust her intuition on the job, which has let her step into the spotlight.

Looking ahead, Malkah aims to expand her influence within multinational companies and international media, leveraging expertise in crisis management and strategic communications to inspire change. The goal: to go global as a trusted voice in media, bridging diverse perspectives.

“The course reinforced the importance of adaptability and transformational leadership, equipping me with tools to drive meaningful change.”
